Collaboration with Eco-Groothandel:
up to 22% heating energy savings across tens of thousands of households
Since 2019, SpeedComfort and Eco-Groothandel have been working together to reduce energy use in Dutch homes. What started as a product relationship has grown into a strong partnership within local authority energy programmes.

About Eco-Groothandel
Eco-Groothandel is part of a group of sustainable companies and e-commerce platforms, including Energiebespaarshop, Ecologisch and Eco-Bouwers. They serve both business and private customers, ranging from energy advisors and local authorities to consumers who actively choose sustainable alternatives and practical solutions to make their homes more energy-efficient.
“We make sustainability accessible to everyone. With practical advice and affordable solutions, we help the Netherlands become greener step by step — from saving energy to embracing a circular lifestyle,” says Bart de Vries, director of Eco-Groothandel.
“Within that broad range, SpeedComfort has become a key product. Not only because of its energy-saving impact, but also thanks to its combination of immediate comfort, ease of use and reliability.”
Large-scale impact through local authorities
In 2023 and 2024, the collaboration gained strong momentum through local authority programmes aimed at tackling fuel poverty. At the end of 2023, Eco-Groothandel won a public tender in The Hague. In a short period of time, teams of energy advisors visited more than 10,000 households.
During these visits, residents received tailored advice and energy-saving measures were installed immediately. SpeedComfort was fitted directly under radiators as a standard part of the approach.
Across tens of thousands of households, this resulted in heating energy savings of up to 22%. This means SpeedComfort not only improved comfort at home, but also significantly reduced energy consumption.
Initially, the Mono set was used. Later, the more efficient Duo set was introduced, with separate cables allowing flexibility per household. Despite the higher purchase cost, this option was deliberately chosen because it delivers greater savings and impact per household.

A practical neighbourhood approach
Local authorities purchased the products from Eco-Groothandel, after which energy advisors entered neighbourhoods equipped with a selection of energy-saving solutions. For each household, they assessed which measures could be applied immediately and would structurally reduce energy costs.
SpeedComfort was installed under radiators and immediately improved heat distribution, reduced energy use and increased comfort. This combination of quick installation, immediate results and lasting savings makes it particularly suitable for fuel poverty programmes.
Amsterdam: energy savings via the city pass
In Amsterdam, Eco-Groothandel and SpeedComfort worked with the local authority in 2025 on a city pass scheme. Residents could apply for a €70 voucher and freely spend it on energy-saving products in the webshop.
Within this scheme, SpeedComfort proved to be a popular choice. While some products offer only small optimisations, SpeedComfort delivers immediate comfort as well as lower energy bills. For households with limited budgets, this was a decisive factor.
The combination of affordability, effectiveness and ease of installation made SpeedComfort a logical and valuable choice. Within this Amsterdam programme, it grew into a standard solution within the range of energy-saving measures.

Energy box projects in multiple cities
In addition to The Hague and Amsterdam, SpeedComfort was also used in energy box projects in cities such as Utrecht, Tilburg, Etten-Leur and Eindhoven. Particularly in Tilburg, Etten-Leur and Eindhoven, these projects reached a scale comparable to The Hague, impacting tens of thousands of households.
Within these projects, SpeedComfort was not an optional addition, but a fixed component of the energy-saving measures. Local authorities and implementation partners deliberately chose to include it as a structural solution.
Why local authorities choose SpeedComfort
According to Bart de Vries, SpeedComfort stands out in several ways. It is user-friendly, easy to install and has very low return rates. Local authorities and implementation partners consistently provide positive feedback.
Equally important is the combination of comfort and measurable energy savings. It not only lowers energy bills but also creates a more evenly heated and comfortable living space. Residents experience the benefits immediately.
Outside municipal programmes, Eco-Groothandel also sees growing demand from consumers. More and more households choose SpeedComfort independently. It is seen as a smart investment that pays for itself and contributes to a more sustainable home.
More than distribution: working together for impact
The collaboration between SpeedComfort and Eco-Groothandel goes beyond distribution. Both parties actively contribute to the design of programmes, the use of Mono and Duo sets, and the optimisation of logistics. Even at large volumes, deliveries remain reliable and flexible.
“We are extremely happy with the collaboration and the results,” says Bart de Vries. “The reliability we see in the product is also reflected in the partnership.”
Contribution to the energy transition
What makes this collaboration unique is its scale and its structural role within local authority energy programmes. SpeedComfort is not just a product on the shelf, but a proven solution in tackling fuel poverty across the Netherlands.
Through its combination of practical application, increased comfort and measurable energy savings, SpeedComfort helps make sustainability accessible to everyone. In doing so, it plays an important role in the energy transition.
